Howdy, Jammers!
Today I'm going to be posting about the NM rights movement, an issue that really annoys me in Animal Jam. I also included a super cool way to extend some of the benefits of your membership!
What Is The NM Rights Movement?
The Non-Member rights movement is the belief that AJHQ should give Non-Members more abilities or the same abilities as Members in the game. It has been around for almost as long as Animal Jam has exist, and has caused many unfair stereotypes. Some (not all) Non-Members believe that they deserve to have the same abilities as Members. Some (once again, not all) Members see Non-Members as being greedy and not being thankful for what they have.
What Do I Think About This Movement?
As a Non-Member, many people have assumed that I am part of this movement. That is partly true. When I first joined Animal Jam, I was irritated about how some Members shunned me, and desperately wanted to be able to buy the many diamond animal avatars and dens available to Members, along with getting rare through Forgotten Desert. I spent much of my time trying to get a "Free Membership", and sadly missed the two week Membership code last year.😢
Now, I am not supportive of this movement. Non-Members have a lot- many games don't even allow you to play without paying, and then you still may have to pay to unlock more features. Plus, AJHQ has already given so much to Non-Members, including:
1. More Animal Avatars.
The giraffe, penguin, rhino, and spring bunny were all once Members-only. Pigs were also added to the game as the first NM diamond animal.
2. Ability to Change the Colour Of Clothing In Jam Mart Clothing.
Back in the beginning of Animal Jam (about 2012-2014, I would say), this was a Members-only feature.
3. New Dens.
Non-Members now have FIVE different dens, including the spring small house, small house den, autumn small house den, winter small house den, and the sunken ship den.
4. More Adventures.
Now, all adventures are available to all Jammers, except for The Forgotten Desert.
5. More Pets.
All Jammers can now purchase hamsters, bees, bears, dodo birds, giraffes, and turkeys, and are able to purchase a total of 1000 pets.
What Should Be Done?
MEMBERS:
Remember to treat all Jammers equally and fairly. Some Non-Members cannot afford to buy a Membership, and may play Animal Jam as a way to escape life's problems, but still want to be able to have fun. Treat your Membership as gift to be used to make Jamma a better place :)
NON-MEMBERS:
Enjoy what you have- you still can have fun without a membership! There is nothing that can be done to get "Equal Rights." Remember that workers at AJHQ need to get paid for their work to support their families. Even without a Membership, you can still make Jamma a better place :)
AJHQ:
I think the main problem Non-Members are having is that all the recent updates are for members. Some of the Member's older abilities that most Jammers aren't buying their Memberships for should bemade available for Non-Members (Such as typing Jam-a-Grams) and still giving Members newer updates.
Membership Glitch!
On Tuesdays, I have decided to post a glitch! Today, Ill be showing you the NM Member Animal Glitch! (This may be patched- I'm not 100% sure.)
Yup, You heard that right! Here is how you do it:
1. Once you have your Membership, buy an Arctic Wolf.
2. Sometime before your Membership ends, recycle all your NM animal avatars.
3. On the day your Membership expires, you will get a popup saying, "Your Membership Has Expired! Choose Two NM Animals To Continue Playing With!". You have no NM animals to select, and AJ can't force you to buy a NM animal, so you can select one of your MM animals.
4. Enjoy! There are several ways of doing this glitch; you can look this up on YouTube to find different versions! I have heard this works with dens too.
Thanks so much for reading! See you in Jamma :)

Going to try to post a comment again. Hope it works this time.
ReplyDeleteAbout that glitch, I've heard that it was fixed that they'll make you buy a non-member animal once your membership expires, but I'm not sure either - I'm fond of my non-member seal after all.
I just fixed the commenting recently, so all should be good. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteIve grown so fond of some of the NM animals, I don't think ill do that trick any more if i ever get a membership XD The glitch may still work for me because im insanely poor- there are never more than 1000 gems in my account for longer than 5 minutes-so I am never able to afford any animal avatars. But it would still be very nice if AJ gave me a free animal :3

Oh that's good to hear! The other day I was afraid I was posting three very similar comments on one of your posts since it wasn't posting or telling me if was under moderation or not.
DeleteThey might make you recycle your animal instead, maybe? Since it's 500 Gems per animal recycled, right?
Great post! Yeah, I've played a lot of kids MMOs and I think Animal Jam has the most features available for nonmembers, so I wouldn't say it's as significant an issue. I like how over time they've slowly expanded part of what nonmembers can do-- for example, in the early days of AJ, nonmembers couldn't change the colors of items.
ReplyDeleteOf course AJHQ adding a little extra would be a great idea. I think a good place to start would be to give nonmembers just one extra animal slot, and maybe some little small things, like making some of the older original pets nonmember (like kitties/snakes/dogs) because there's like a million different members only pets that have come out since.
I totally agree with you.
DeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteI've been both-nonmember and member- so I know how to react to this.
First of all, being a member isn't really worth it. Sure, you got all this cool stuff, but once it started to end, I realized that I didn't use it much, and again, not really worth it. You can still wear a nonmember spike, and get rares such as a skunk tail (like on my look c:) so being a member doesn't really bring much value.
And my sister is going to do that glitch with her fox I think. Nice post!
Also HELP I DON'T OWN MY OWN BLOG! IT WON'T LET ME EDIT IT OR ANYTHING! I mean, I can edit my profile, BUT NOT MY BLOG! AAAAA HELP ME!

Hey there! Im not quite sure how to fix that, but ill see if i can find out. I agree, being member isn't always worth it- but took me years to accept that 😏
